Flavorful Orange Beef with Broccolini
Citrus flavors, savory sweet, with some crunchy greens will be uplifting and nourishing in busy times.
Serve with brown rice.
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1kg stir fry steak, sliced
- Sesame seeds, optional
- SAUCE:
- 1+ cup orange juice with pulp
- 2 tsp cornflour
- Zest 1 orange
- 2 tsp maple syrup
- 1-2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1-2 tbsp minced ginger
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp minced chilli maybe
- 6 or more fresh basil leaves, chopped finely
- Broccolini chopped enough to satisfy
METHOD: - On a medium heat, whisk together orange juice with corn flour to ensure there are no lumps!
- Add in remaining sauce ingredients and bring to a boil, until the sauce thickens and slightly caramelises. Turn off heat and set aside.
- In a large frying pan, heat olive oil on a high heat. Add in broccolini and stir for 2 mins .
- Add half the orange sauce and continue to stir for another 2 mins. Broccolini should still be crunchy!!!
- Remove from pan and set aside.
- Heat remaining olive oil in pan and add in sliced steak, sear for 1-2 mins on all edges. Do not over cook!
- and add in remaining orange sauce and stir well for 5 mins.
- Return broccolini to the wok and toss well to combine with steak.
- Divide into portions for serving. Top with sesame seeds.
